Well, it's been a little over a month since Opus VIII has been out officially and I still haven't gotten around to doing my usual Bingo celebration raffle, but there's a perfectly good explanation for that! As I mentioned in my last post, I recently went to Japan for the first time and it was absolutely incredible. Seriously, after spending time in Japan where there's lots of cool stuff to do and see, everything is spotlessly clean, and the people were super polite and nice, it's a little depressing to be back here in New York, where it's dirty and gross and undead ghouls rise from the ground every night to terrorize the living and operate the subway system, but I digress.
It should go without saying that Tokyo is pretty much nerd paradise. Even though I had a lot of great experiences, I think my favorite was probably the Final Fantasy XIV Eorzea Cafe in Akihabara. I'm not even a huge XIV fan either! Everybody knows that I love to compare XIV's story and characters to XI's from aloft my ivory tower, and maybe if they had (or have in the future when that mysterious XI Mobile remake eventually comes out) a Vana'diel Cafe, I'd be singing a different tune but damn... it was really incredible. The food was great but the overall atmosphere was so good that I'm actually seriously considering resubscribing to XIV for the Shadowbringers Expansion. This is 100% thanks to how great the Eorzea cafe was and has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I'll be able to play as a beefcake

So considering that we got a new XIV starter deck this set, I thought I would do things a little differently this time and give away some stuff I picked up at the Eorzea Cafe for the Opus VIII Bingo Raffle. So what can you win if you enter?
Prize Set #1: Full art Cloud Promo + Eorzea Cafe Limited Event Poster
If you've never had the chance to go, there's a few things that you get when you go to the Eorzea Cafe. One of these things is a poster exclusive to the Cafe that is available for a limited time and ties in to a corresponding in-game event. When we went, the tie-in event was "Little Ladies Day 2019", so the posters we got were of the artwork seen above. I'll select one winner to mail the poster to - I'll even get it laminated to make sure that it stays nice in transit.
In addition to the poster, I'll also send the winner a Full-Art promo Cloud. It's in Mint condition and still sealed so you can rest assured that I haven't gotten my grubby little paws all over it.
Prize Set #2: FFXIV Job Pin + Final Fantasy Mystery Item
While I was at the Cafe I picked up these Pins that correspond to a different Job from each Role Category in FFXIV - Tank (Paladin), DPS (Dragoon), and Healer (White Mage). When you enter the raffle, you'll get to choose which one of these you'd want if you win. In addition, you'll also get a special Final Fantasy mystery item that I got from my trip to Japan. So what are these items?
Well, when you go to the Eorzea Cafe, another item that you get with your order is a special random coaster featuring characters and artwork from the game. You get to pick one from the available XIV jobs when you enter, and every time you place an order in the cafe you're given one additional sealed one at random. So along with the XIV Job pin you'll receive one of the sealed coasters or...
Dissatisfied with your current job and wishing that you could bring more to the party than just a plucky can-do attitude? Fear not! With this Final Fantasy V Job Change Button from the Kotobukiya Store, you can get a new job randomly assigned to you! Of course, you could still wind up as a freelancer too... In that case you and I could always have a competition to see which is worse - Freelancer or Onion Knight? I'm confident I would still lose in that department though. You'll get either the button or the coaster with your pin, and which one is inside each is a mystery!
So how do you end up entering the raffle?
Raffle Rules:
1) In order to be eligible for the raffles, you must complete the survey I'll be linking below.
Your entry makes you eligible to win either prize from each category, but there will be a
separate winner announced for each. Each winner will be chosen at
random.
2) The contest is open to both local and international fans
of the TCG, so if you don't happen to be from the US, don't sweat it! I
will be in contact with the winners to discuss shipping arrangements.
3)
The Raffle submission period will go for ten days from the post date of
this blog (April 21st - May 1st), and I will announce the winners via Facebook on Wednesday the 1st at 8PM EST.
4) I will contact the winners via the email they submit in the survey. If I do not hear back from a winner in 48 hours, I will choose another winner at random, so be sure to submit an email that you check often!
5) You
will be able to select which XIV Job pin you want from the survey if you win that prize, but
whether you get an Eorzea Cafe Coaster or FFV Job Change button is
random. You won't be able to change which Job pin you'll receive after you submit the survey, so choose wisely!

I always have fun trying to speculate what's going to be in the next set. So what do you guys think will be coming for Opus IX? Think we'll be thrown any curve balls or as of now unused mechanics from the Chapters Series of cards? I guess we have plenty of time to speculate on that.
